Engagement | Tyler & Kelli

Wednesday, July 20, 2016
You know those couples where you can just see the love between them?  That's Tyler & Kelli.  They are too cute together!  I have known Kelli since high school, & she has finally found the man of her dreams.  What's even better?  He is awesome with her daughter!  We did their engagement session last month, & even had her daughter get in a few of the pictures with them!

I love how outsiders will just see people in pictures & cute poses, but when you are actually on site, so much can go on behind the scenes that no one else knows about!  It's really quite funny.  Someone viewing pictures on a computer or their cell phone won't get to feel the humidity of the South during a Summer session, hear a child crying, or hear me say "watch out for deer poop!" (seriously).  During Tyler & Kelli's session, we didn't experience any of those things, but we did deal with trying not eat gnats for breakfast that were flying everywhere while we were talking and posing & not getting stung by a swarm of bees!  Ha!  It's always funny to look back on a session & remember what happened, then look at the pretty pictures!

These next two are my favorites from their session!

Maternity | Obie & Christina

Monday, July 18, 2016
A couple of weeks ago, I had my very first maternity session.  Not going to lie, I was a little nervous!  There was also no pressure when they drove six hours just to do these pictures... no, no pressure at all.  I have known Obie since our elementary school days, but I haven't seen him in a long time.  He is currently in the military, so their lives are busy with traveling, kids, & preparing for their addition!  Obie & Christina, thank you for trusting me to take these pictures!

Excited big sister!

Wedding | Josh & Larissa

Thursday, July 14, 2016
On May 7th, Josh & Larissa tied the knot!  It was a beautiful & warm Saturday for the two little love birds to express their love for each other.  The ceremony & reception were located near a pond & the Catawba River, in the middle of the woods of The River Club in Glen Alpine, NC.  The spot was extra special to the bride because growing up she would spend time with her family at the river.

The site was decorated with fresh flowers, rustic decor, & trees covered in lights to light up the night.  It was so beautiful & peaceful!  Josh, Larissa, & their families worked so hard on making their wedding day so perfect - and it was!  The bridesmaids wore mint infinity dresses, while the groomsmen wore navy tuxedos.  Larissa's dress!  Oh, Larissa's dress.  The details on it were absolutely gorgeous!  It was so perfect for her.

Larissa's father drove her to the ceremony in a 1965 red Mustang.  Be still my heart.  I have a soft spot for Mustangs!  And any father/daughter moment!  The love between this father & daughter is so special.  The way that they look at each other is so precious!  Cue the tears.

Everyone could tell the groom was super nervous & anxious to see his bride walk down the aisle!  It was so sweet.  Instead of doing a unity candle or sand during the ceremony, they came up with their own touch!  They put vinyl letters of their last name on a white canvas, poured paint all over the canvas, & then after it was all dry they removed the letters so you could see "Capps" in white on the canvas!  So neat!  The reception was filled with homemade pizza (which was SO good!), wine, numerous desserts, dancing, & a lantern send off!

Enough chit chat!  Here are some of my favorite images from their special day!

Oh, look!  There I am at the far right!  Thanks to Maggie Conner Photography for assisting me on the pictures that I wasn't able to take ;)

How gorgeous are these little girls!?

Ahhh.  The deep breath from the bride, the look on her father's face, & all the sweet & nervous emotions in this picture!

The lighting was perfect for the next couple of shots!  I was on cloud nine!

Scott, Cassi, & Chloe

Thursday, July 7, 2016
I first met Scott and Cassi while Cassi was pregnant with their child, Chloe.  They had prayed for a child for a long time.  God blessed them with adorable little Chloe, & their family finally felt complete!  They are such a sweet little family.  When Cassi asked me about doing Chloe's one year session, I was so excited!  She is too cute, but man, oh man, those blue eyes of hers.  I'm telling you, kids with blue eyes get me every single time!
